How to Remove TV from RV Cabinet? How I Follow the Easy Steps

RVs are a great way to travel and explore new places, but they can also be a bit cramped. Every inch of space counts, which is why many RVs have TVs mounted in cabinets. This is a great way to save space and have a TV in your RV, but it can also make it a bit difficult to remove the TV if you need to.

There are a few reasons why you might need to remove the TV from your RV cabinet. Maybe you’re selling your RV and need to take the TV with you. Or maybe you’re upgrading to a new TV and need to remove the old one. Whatever the reason, it’s important to know how to do it safely and without damaging the TV or the cabinet.

In this article, I’ll introduce you to the steps on how to remove a TV from an RV cabinet. Moreover, I have provided tips on how to avoid damaging the TV or the cabinet in the process in the later part of this article.

How to Remove TV from RV Cabinet

Step 1: Gather Your Tools

You’ll need the following tools to remove a TV from an RV cabinet:

  • A screwdriver (Phillips or flathead, depending on the type of screws used to secure the TV)
  • A flashlight
  • A helper (optional)

Step 2: Disconnect the TV from the Power Source and Cables.

This step is important for two reasons:

  1. Safety: Disconnecting the TV from the power source prevents the risk of electrical shock.
  2. Preventing damage: Disconnecting the cables prevents them from being damaged when you remove the TV from the cabinet.

To disconnect the TV from the power source, simply unplug the power cord from the outlet. If the TV is hardwired to the RV’s electrical system, disconnect it at the breaker box.

To disconnect the TV’s cables, locate all of the cables that are connected to the back of the TV. This may include the HDMI cable, antenna cable, coaxial cable, audio cables, and any other cables that are connected to the TV. Once you have located all of the cables, disconnect them from the TV.

Step 3: Locate and Remove the Mounting Screws

Remove the mounting screws that secure the TV to the cabinet. Most RVs have TVs that are mounted to the cabinet with screws. The screws are usually located on the back of the TV and on the inside of the cabinet. You’ll need a screwdriver to remove the screws.

Step 4: Lift the TV Out of the Cabinet

Carefully lift the TV out of the cabinet. Once the screws have been removed, you can carefully lift the TV out of the cabinet. Be careful not to drop the TV, as it can be heavy and fragile.

Step 5 – Place the TV in a Safe Place

Once the TV has been removed from the cabinet, place it in a safe place where it won’t be damaged.

Precautions While Removing TV from the Cabinet

While removing your TV from the RV cabinet is a manageable task, it’s essential to take some precautions:

  • Disconnect all cables before removing the TV. This will prevent damage to the cables.
  • Be careful not to drop the TV. RVs can be bumpy, so it’s important to be careful when removing the TV from the cabinet.
  • Place the TV in a safe place after removing it from the cabinet. This will prevent damage to the TV.
  • If you’re not sure how to remove the TV from the cabinet, consult your RV’s owner’s manual.
  • If you’re not comfortable removing the TV yourself, you can hire a professional to do it for you.
  • Make sure to have all of the necessary tools and supplies before you start removing the TV. This will make the process easier and faster.
