Not all campgrounds are made equal. Some have great amenities, and modern facilities. Others have a more rustic, relaxed and down home feel. But those campgrounds with spectacular sunrises and sunsets and wonderful light can make your time there really special…and yes, camping can be this beautiful!
For this, we’ve been fortunate to find several campgrounds northwest of Atlanta, Georgia on Allatoona Lake (or Lake Allatoona for your Northerners) that have provided us with a really tranquil and beautiful time. We’ve met many regular campers that have been camping on and off on weekends at Allatoona their entire lives. Folks that are our age that have come to Allatoona since they were kids themselves! These are the folks that represent the South, friendly, and ready to offer you a cold beer.
The RV Campgrounds on Allatoona Lake (Federal, State, Local, and Private) limit stays to 14 to 30 days, so plan your travel in advance. You’re never far from the bustle of downtown Atlanta, or the beauty of the scenic Ridge and Valley region of Georgia.
As the temperatures start to get cooler, we can really start to take advantage of the beautiful scenery, weather, and fun with the kids. Each day we spend more and more time outside exploring.
So our advice to you, is get on out there. Thank you and as always, share your adventures and hopes!
